A H&M számára fontos az újrahasznosítás, kezdve az újrahasznosított anyagból készült zacsikkal vagy akár a minden évben megjelenő Conscious kollekcióval, melynek darabjai szintén újrahasznosított anyagokból készülnek. Mindezek mellett másért is harcolnak, ami számunkra nem oly észrevehető. Így például a dolgozók jogaiért vagy a farmergyártáshoz a kevesebb víz felhasználásáért.

For H&M, recycling is an important question, begin with the shopping bags made of recycled plastic or just the Conscious collection, which come out every year and made of also recyled materials. Next to all of these, it fights for other things too, which is not so noticeable for us. For example for the rights of the workers, or for the less water-use for the denim-making.

A következő lépés volt, hogy 2011-ben összeállt az iCollecttel, hogy újra tudják hasznosítani a vásárlók által már nem használt és leadott darabokat. Az első cél volt, hogy Svájcban 17 boltban működjön a rendszer, mi szerint a leadott, bármilyen márkájú darabokért cserébe a vásárlók ajándékkártyát kapnak, melynek árát levásárolhatják a H&M üzletekben. A cég célja, hogy ezt a tervet 2013 februárjától több országban is meg tudják valósítani.

The next step was to team up in 2011 with iCollect to recycle the pieces not used and delivered by the shoppers. The first goal was the system to work in Switzerland, in 17 shops, which means, return for the delivered clothes with any kind of label the costumers get gift vouchers, which could be used in the H&M shops. The house's goal to work out this plan also in other countries from 2013 february.
Az iCollect, vagyis az I:CO összegyűjti a boltokban kiállított dobozokból a ruhákat s újrahasznosító üzemében válogatja ki. Mindent szétválogatnak, vagyis nem marad semmilyen hulladék. A különböző anyagok pedig nyersanyagként vagy újrahasznosított termékként kerülnek vissza a piacra. Íme egy kis videó, ez hogy is működik valójában.

The iCollect, that is I:CO collects the clothes of the boxes of the shops and brings it to its recycling factory. They weed out everything, so there will be no litter after them. The different materials get back to the indusrty in the form of raw material or of recycled products. Here's a short video about how it really goes.
